About the Scholarship

Each year nearly 2,000 young people apply for scholarships. The Wesam Fund grants scholarships based on economic need and aims to fund scholarships to students representing a wide array of majors from science to the arts.

Each year, the Fund holds an ceremony in Deir-Hanna to present incoming students with their scholarships. The ceremony is widely attended by notable decision makers and opinion leaders in Israeli society including members of Knesset, judges, business people, representatives from public authorities, journalists and grassroots activists. At the ceremony the new scholars are charged with the task of carrying out Wisam's legacy by excelling in their studies and promoting the principles of equality and coexistence on which the Fund stands.
